SURGERY REPORT
It's been six weeks since my anterior cervical discectomy, and I'm
nearly recovered. Nearly, because I can still bring on pain by
overdoing it. As in throwing the ball repeatedly for border collie
Nugget. It felt great to get my arm back...until my neck and shoulder
started to scream.
Nonetheless, the surgery was very successful, and the hospital stay
perversely pleasant. I am also now the home for a small slice of
cadaver bone, which was used in the fusing of the disc. Hmm... a
horror screenplay might be next on the writing block.
I'm in the process of getting a copy of my post-surgery x-ray emailed
to me. I'll see if I can post it. The screws used to install the plate are
big enough to fuse a bookcase together.
Here's what the scar looked like after a few weeks.

AVAILABLE FOR YOUR EDITORIAL NEEDS
I'm back to work and looking for editorial projects to do from home.
Right now I'm localizing copy for UK English and doing an edit pass on
a fantasy novel. But I've time for more!
CRITIQUE GROUP
Wow! Both Laurie and Christine have agents eagerly waiting to read
their revised manuscripts, and the rest of us continue to make good
progress. The chapters of Maiden's Veil that I've submitted to the
group have gotten the final seal of approval, and I'm nearly ready to
hand off the next batch. Stay tuned!
Sometimes we need to do a little research... like comparing the
merits of various regional wines. The pic below will show how
studious we can be:
